fixos em Fernando de Noronha, pesquisadores do Projeto Golfinho Rotador contam e observam diariamente os golfinhos utilizando bin\u00f3culos. Mas h\u00e1 detalhes do comportamento desses animais que o registro apenas \u00e9 poss\u00edvel com uma vis\u00e3o subaqu\u00e1tica. Por isso, desde 1990 os golfinhos tamb\u00e9m s\u00e3o estudados em mergulho.<\/p><p>Entre as descobertas decorrentes das observa\u00e7\u00f5es em mergulho livre com os rotadores de Noronha est\u00e3o as descri\u00e7\u00f5es dos comportamentos de c\u00f3pula, amamenta\u00e7\u00e3o, descanso, guarda e intera\u00e7\u00e3o com outros animais.<\/p><p>Para mergulhar com os golfinhos, os integrantes da equipe de pesquisa do Projeto Golfinho Rotador possuem licen\u00e7a do Sistema de Autoriza\u00e7\u00e3o e Informa\u00e7\u00e3o em Biodiversidade \u2013 SISBio e os pesquisadores seguem procedimentos espec\u00edficos, para reduzir o impacto sobre os animais.<\/p><p>De setembro de 2018 a agosto de 2020 est\u00e3o programados no m\u00ednimo 48 mergulhos para estudo comportamental dos golfinhos. As observa\u00e7\u00f5es subaqu\u00e1ticas s\u00e3o registradas de tr\u00eas formas: em uma planilha de mergulho de PVC, em m\u00e1quina fotogr\u00e1fica ou em filmadora submarina.<\/p><p>Para cada avistagem de golfinho s\u00e3o coletados os seguintes dados: hora do in\u00edcio e do fim da avistagem; n\u00famero de golfinhos avistados; n\u00famero de golfinhos marcados e descri\u00e7\u00e3o das marcas naturais; segmenta\u00e7\u00e3o et\u00e1ria do agrupamento; comportamento dos golfinhos; comportamento dos golfinhos em rela\u00e7\u00e3o aos pesquisadores.<\/p><p>Um dos benef\u00edcios do mergulho \u00e9 a possibilidade de uma an\u00e1lise qualitativa de forma mais precisa do que \u00e9 observado dos pontos fixos. Por exemplo, em um subgrupo de reprodu\u00e7\u00e3o, pode se contar quantas f\u00eameas e quantos machos. E ainda a propor\u00e7\u00e3o em subgrupos de f\u00eameas e filhotes.<\/p><p>Os mergulhos contribuem para foto e v\u00eddeo identifica\u00e7\u00e3o, pois o pesquisador capta imagens das marcas naturais do corpo todo dos golfinhos. Estas informa\u00e7\u00f5es s\u00e3o inseridas no banco de dados do Projeto Golfinho Rotador.Esse tipo de informa\u00e7\u00e3o permite estudar a din\u00e2mica da estrutura social e estimar o tamanho da popula\u00e7\u00e3o dos rotadores de Fernando de Noronha.
