2025 Good Travel Seal

We are the first NGO in Latin America to be certified by Green Destinations and receive the Gold Seal. This certification assessed our actions and governance against 10 sustainability requirements and their corresponding indicators.

2016 - Okayama Award for Education for Sustainable Development

The Spinner Dolphin Project was among the 10 finalists worldwide to win the “Okayama Award 2016” for Education for Sustainable Development.

This demonstrated that we are aligned with our mission: to develop research, environmental education, community engagement, and sustainability activities for the conservation of dolphins, Fernando de Noronha, and marine biodiversity, and with our vision: to become a global reference in environmental conservation and sustainability in island ecosystems.

This award is promoted by the city of Okayama in Japan, selected as one of UNESCO’s partners for the Global Action Programme for the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals. For this reason, the city of Okayama launched, in 2015, the “Okayama Award” with the aim of promoting global practices in favor of Sustainable Development.

2015 - Braztoa Sustainability Award

Spinner Dolphin Project won 1st Place in the 2015 BRAZTOA Sustainability Award.

The award represents recognition of the work that the Spinner Dolphin Project has been carrying out since 1990 in favor of sustainable tourism in the Fernando de Noronha Archipelago. The Braztoa Sustainability Award serves as an incentive for the application of sustainable practices in Brazilian tourism.

2012 and 2013 - Diploma of Honor to Merit from the District Council

This diploma granted by the District Council of Fernando de Noronha aims to recognize the services provided by local institutions in favor of the Noronha Community.

In 2012 and 2013, the Spinner Dolphin Project was awarded this Diploma of Honor to Merit due to its local actions that benefited: students of the Arquipélago School in the area of ​​Environmental Education; young people who received professional training courses in the area of ​​Ecotourism; and, the Sustainability Project, which included 75 Inns in Fernando de Noronha, within the scope of how to implement Sustainable Management in the Accommodation Facilities of Fernando de Noronha.

2008 - Declaration of the Guardianship Council of Fernando de Noronha

This declaration was granted to the NGO Centro Golfinho Rotador for its partnership in actions to develop environmental education and professional training programs for children, adolescents and young people in Fernando de Noronha.

2007 - Public Utility Title

The Public Utility Title is the recognition by the Fernando de Noronha District Council of the fact that the Spinner Golf Center selflessly provides relevant services to society.

2006 - Certificate from the Military Police of Pernambuco

The NGO Centro Golfinho Rotador received this certificate for its collaboration in the Drug and Violence Resistance Program in the archipelago.

2006 - Procel Award

The architectural design of the Rotator Dolphin Project headquarters was efficiently designed according to the concept of sustainable architecture, receiving 1st Place in the 2006 Procel Award – Buildings Category.

The Procel Edificações Award is a voluntary membership instrument whose main objective is to identify buildings that present the best energy efficiency ratings in a given category, motivating the consumer market to acquire and use more efficient properties. This is an extremely important sector in the electricity market, representing around 50% of the country’s electricity consumption.

2003 - Postal Service Stamp

In 2003, to commemorate the 500th anniversary of the official discovery of Fernando de Noronha, the Brazilian Post and Telegraph Company launched the Dolphins of Brazil Stamp, with a holographic image and an insert with text and photos of the spinner dolphins of Fernando de Noronha.
